Pam Schantz

I was blessed to have been raised in a Christian home by my awesome parents, Dorothy and the late Tom Meyer. They were a fantastic, Godly example, for myself and my friends. My handsome husband, Chris and I have been married for 29 years. We have 4 beautiful children, Courtney and her husband Mitchell, and the twins, Jordan and Dylan.

I have been involved with YFC since I was a teenager many years ago. In fact, I met my husband on the bus on the way to a Florida Breakaway Trip. Back in the day, when we were young adults, we did some chaperoning of various events. One of the things we really enjoyed was building relationships and hanging out with teens at The Loft in the Henderson building on 142 on Monday nights.

I have volunteered at the Free Methodist Church in Bad Axe in many different capacities but mainly focusing on the needs of the kids at church. As the kids grew older I have "moved up" with them through the years. I have worked nursery, toddler church, VBS, Children's Church, nursery and toddler room scheduling and Youth Group. I volunteered with Cornerstone for 6 years as a small group leader, head cook and bottle washer and confidant. I have seen spiritual growth in many teens over the years through this wonderful experience. It has been such a joy and blessing!

I have built relationships with some fantastic teens! I pray the Lord has used me and will continue to use me to influence teens in a positive manner and to be a light to draw them closer to Jesus. I pray that these kids will accept Jesus as their personal Savior, dig into His word and follow the Plan He has set aside for them.

My heart is drawn to those who are hurting. The enemy attacks them on so many levels and makes them forget that they are children of the King. I want so much to show them God's love and see them experience it for themselves as they turn their trials and tribulations over to Him and give Him control.

Please pray for me and this ministry as I continue this new, exciting chapter in my life. Pray that God will give me wisdom, patience and an outpouring of love for teens. Pray that I will follow His path and not just barrel through this in my own, controlling way. Pray that I will hear that still, small voice, and not get so busy in the details, that I don't listen. Pray that hearts will be opened to the Saving Grace of Jesus and teens will hunger to know God. As we say at church, I want to "Know Christ, and to Make Him Known."
